Whether you're a seasoned team leader or a highly experienced practitioner looking to focus purely on legal work — this role is designed to be flexible around you.

  • Delivering strategic, solution-focused legal advice to senior officers and elected members
  • Managing a diverse caseload across construction, governance, and public law matters
  • (Optional) Leading and developing a team of lawyers — with additional allowance
  • Championing client service, legal innovation, and operational excellence

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Strong track record in commercial contracts & procurement
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and competing priorities
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset

Why you'll love working here

  • Purpose-driven work with real community impact
  • Flexible hybrid working – office hubs in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire & Northamptonshire
  • Ongoing development opportunities

  • 26 days annual leave (rising with service) + bank holidays + option to buy more
  • Cycle to Work scheme
