Join Our Team as an HR Assistant at Avidity Science!

Are you passionate about human resources and eager to contribute to a dynamic and progressive company? Avidity Science is looking for a dedicated HR Assistant to join our busy EMEA team. This is a unique opportunity to join our team as the first team member in addition to our existing Head of HR.

To be successful, you will need demonstrable experience in a similar role, supporting a range of HR activities, including recruitment, maintaining robust employee records, onboarding, handling initial employee and manager queries and ideally payroll. In exchange, you'll have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of activities, get exposure to French, German and Slovakian employment legislation and have the chance to work on global employee projects.

Your Role:

As an HR Assistant, you will:

  • Support all internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintain employee records and databases.
  • Assist in managing employee rewards and benefits.
  • Support the recruitment process, including advertising positions, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews.
  • Aid managers in handling employee relations issues including grievances and disciplinaries.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Assist in the creation and improvement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support employee engagement and social/wellbeing initiatives.
  • Assist with payroll preparation.
  • Support off-boarding procedures, including exit interviews.
  • Contribute to company communications and coordination of the company vehicle fleet.
  • Support other regional and global HR projects and initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • A collaborative ethic, self-motivation, and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to roll-up your sleeves and “get your hands dirty”. We are a lean team and we will occasionally get involved in non-HR activities.
  • CIPD qualifications and/or HR-related degree is an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to handle matters assertively and confidentially.
  • Strong IT skills and adaptability to multiple systems. An interest in technology to drive HR forward is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in French and/or German and experience in processing payroll is a distinct advantage.
