We are recruiting for a number of site management roles within the M25 and would love to hear from you.

The Role

To plan, organise and manage construction site activities to ensure the works are undertaken safely, efficiently and to a high standard by ensuring resources are procured diligently in line with programme and budget requirements, information is gathered, and the workforce are provided the best opportunity to succeed in completing their requisite tasks to provide the desired outcomes, whilst seeing the project through to completion and handover, defect free, in line with client requirements

Health and Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with H&S legislation, policies, safety plans, risk assessments and method statements
  • Ensure the project is never left without adequate supervision
  • Set high standards personally to ensure all site operatives behave and conduct themselves appropriately
  • Lead, deliver and enforce the Helix health and safety values

Programme

  • Deliver the project on time
  • Provide regular and accurate programme/progress feedback
  • Arrest any issues that may put the programme at risk
  • Ensure timely service connections, through early, clear, recorded communication with the statutory service providers
  • Facilitate, lead and minute effective sub-contractor meetings
  • Prepare short-term programmes if necessary in order to formally communicate programme information and requirements to asubcontractors
  • Order, plan and schedule material delivery requirements

Quality

  • Handover completed scheme to agreed quality standard
  • Maintain quality control using regular recorded inspections
  • Issue inspection lists to subcontractors and relevant parties, issuing deadlines and managing their completion
  • Formally record and manage areas of supplier and subcontractor non-conformance
  • Ensure key stage inspections are completed.
  • Collect and collate all project documentation for incorporation into resident handover pack or Operation and Maintenance Manuals
  • Ensure the project is defect free following completion
  • To organise and control the construction of the development in accordance with the drawings, schedules, specifications and Employers Requirements.
  • To ensure that the construction complies with the relevant NHBC, alternative warranty provider and Building Regs

Control requirements

  • Review issued drawings and ensure they are compliant and deliverable
  • Formally issue (and record) any revised drawings or specifications to subcontractors following the placement of their works order
  • Ensure our sites are well presented, clear, organised and compliant with Helix standards, including our site offices

Cost Control

  • Keep within preliminary budgets
  • Issue instructions to subcontractors in consultation with commercial management
  • Engage in consultation with commercial team including at sub-contract tender stage
  • Issue site instructions to subcontractors
  • Prepare material take-offs and call-off schedules accurately in a timely manner to enable the best price
  • Maintain an accurate record of material and plant orders and deliveries through the daily diary sheets.
  • Maintain an accurate monthly hired and owned plant record sheet
  • Compile accurate labour allocation sheets or daily diary sheets in order to recover labour costs from clients / subcontractors
