Responsibilities
- Create and execute purchasing strategies that enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
- Evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery conditions.
- Stay informed on market trends, pricing changes, and supplier performance to guide purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with production and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing.
- Keep accurate records of inventory, purchase orders, and supplier contracts, while analyzing data to forecast future purchasing requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience as a buyer or procurement professional in the food industry.
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing, supply chain management, and market trends.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient in procurement and inventory management software.
- Experience in ERP/MRP would be beneficial
