Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist – Leatherhead – Graduates and Trainees – Special Needs – SEN – SALT – ASD – SurreyAre you an outstanding Graduate looking to gain experience before pursuing a career as a Speech and Language Therapist?Are you motivated by supporting and helping children to reach their full potential?Look no further, as we have a Special Educational Needs (SEN) School near Leatherhead for children with additional learning needs. Most children have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and an Autism diagnosis.This school are looking for a passionate and committed Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist to work at a school for children aged 4-16. You will be supporting a small class of 7-10 students, working in partnership with the school’s teaching staff, therapists and support staff team to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students’ learning, development and language acquisition.As an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a qualified Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), and deliver interventions to children with speech, language and communicational needs both in a small group and 1:1. You will make a real difference to the lives of the children, gaining vital experience which will enable you to kick-start your future career as a Speech and Language Therapist.Job role and responsibilities of Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist:Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of studentsBehaviour and pastoral supportTake an active role in forward planning with therapistsAbility to build robust and effective relationships with studentsPractical approach to meet the individual needs of studentsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsCaring, compassionate, and a good listenerWilling to work 1:1 and in small groups with studentsEnsure safeguarding of students, in line with proceduresPersonal care supportAttend staff meetings and complete appropriate CPDExperience is not required, but candidates should demonstrate an interest in working with children with SEN.**Start date ASAP**Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students**£85-£110 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-4pm, term time only**No previous experience is required**If you have a degree, it’s an excellent use of your degree – for graduates and trainees**You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply – no Visa sponsorship**Must be able to travel to Leatherhead and surrounding areasApply now or contact Eleanor Chessun-Lawrence at Academics Ltd, if you are an Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist (Leatherhead):01483 362 636
