HGV Driver

The Best Connection are working closely with our client, a national logistics company to recruit LGV C+E (HGV Class 1 Drivers) for their depot based in Thirsk.Immediate Driving Assessments can be made available for suitable candidates.The role:

• General haulage to customer DC’s and shunting around the customers sites (Both roles are compulsory)
• Dropping & swapping of trailers (must secure the loads at all times)
• The safe operation of a Class One (C+E) vehicle, staying in line with Driver’s Hours and working time regulations
• Completion of vehicle checks
• Comply with the companies health and safety procedures at all times and ensuring that the Highway code is followed
• Potential of a permanent position after a qualifying period
• Day shifts and Night Shifts available, can include weekend working

The Driver:

• Be in possession of a valid C+E (Class One Licence)
• In date CPC & Digi Card
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must have a minimum of 12 months commercial driving experience

Hours of work (There will be a regular rotation of the following shifts)

• Days (Shunting 05.30am-17.30pm/06.00am-18.00pm
• Nights (Shunting 17.30pm-05.30am/18.00pm-06.00am)
• Days (General Haulage start between 02.00am-07.00am finish between 14.00pm-19.00pm)
• Nights (General Haulage start between 14.00pm-19.00pm finish between 02.00am-07.00am)

Pay Rates

• Days: Monday to Friday £14.47 per hour
• Nights: Monday to Friday £15.98 per hour
• Saturdays: £19.00 per hour
• Sundays: £23.00 per hour
