About the Role:

Primaire Consulting are seeking a driven and experienced Sales Manager for a market leading Power Transmission manufacturer to lead their Couplings business across the UK & Ireland.

In this pivotal role, you’ll identify and develop new business opportunities, build strong customer relationships and support their regional sales teams to drive order intake and revenue growth.

You'll play a key part in shaping their market presence and delivering on strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Strategy

  • Conduct market analysis to identify new customers and opportunities.
  • Drive proactive order intake initiatives and support regional sales in meeting targets.
  • Define and deliver the UK Couplings Strategy annually, aligned with the overall UK business strategy.
  • Provide quarterly performance updates and engage in monthly reviews with HQ.

Market & Application Analysis

  • Identify applications in key industries, particularly power generation.
  • Analyse current and emerging industry requirements and match these with their product portfolio.
  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure offerings meet evolving market needs.

Customer Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong, value-based relationships with key decision-makers and CXOs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HQ and other regional teams.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and within professional societies.

Technical Expertise & Sales Support

  • Provide technical consulting and customer training on product applications.
  • Lead contract negotiations (supply and frame agreements) and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a positive and professional image of the company through all interactions.

Operations & Performance

  • Support the budgeting process by developing annual growth targets and regional sales plans.
  • Deliver monthly business forecasts for the Couplings division.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date CRM entries using Salesforce.
  • Stay current on industry trends through continuous professional development.

About You:

  • HNC or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the couplings industry at a product or business management level.
  • Demonstrated experience in value-based selling and strategic customer engagement.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Full UK driving license.
