Legal Counsel – Aviation Finance

Our client is a leading aircraft leasing company managing a growing portfolio of aircraft leased to numerous commercial airlines operating across multiple jurisdictions.

They are seeking a talented legal counsel to join their dynamic team. In this broad role, you will provide comprehensive legal support as a pivotal part of their legal team, across a range of matters related to aircraft leasing and management, ensuring compliance with their legal, governance and regulatory obligations.

About the Role:

1. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including aircraft lease agreements, financing agreements, purchase and sale agreements, novation and other related documentation.
2. Ensure all contractual documentation aligns with the organisation’s commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.
3. Plan transaction strategy, roadmap and milestones and take ownership of timely transaction progression.
4. Advise on a variety of issues, including contract interpretation, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

Who You Are:

1. A legal professional with 2+ years’ experience in aircraft leasing/financing, or a related field, preferably gained in a leading international law firm or in-house with a lessor.
2. Experience managing complex transactions and providing strategic legal advice in the aviation sector, as well as in cross-border transactions and a strong understanding of international legal principles related to aircraft leasing and financing.
3. Strong organisational and management skills with a proven ability to manage complex issues and mitigate legal risks.
4. Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and influencing skills.
5. Strategic thinker with a proactive ‘get things done’ attitude.
