Position Summary:Rolling stock refurbishment and repurposing, corrosion and structural body repairs
Ongoing work within rail/rolling stock engineering sector
* Inspection, replacement and repair of corroded sections of rolling stock* Stripping damaged sections, window cut outs and whole floor replacement* Solid wire MIG work working with predominantly mild steel from 2- 10mm – with MPI tested welds* Welding new sections and infill pieces, variety of positions, including vertical and overhead required* Experience with fabrication, use of grinders and plasma required* Ability to work from verbal instruction and engineering drawings
All candidates will be required to successfully complete T fillet test pieces in Vertical Up and Overhead on 2mm and 5mm
Candidates will have:– Relevant City and Guilds / NVQ – Level 2 Required– Experience of Position Welding, ideally evidenced through codings held.– Own PPE Expected as undertaking Contract Role
